PORT OF HUELVA
In the west coast of Andalusia, next to the Strait of Gibraltar, the Port of Huelva is situated less than one hour to the monumental city of Seville and the Portuguese Algarve, at the most important crossroads of the North-South and East-West maritime routes, (one sailing night from Lisbon and also to Malaga), which means the opportunity for being visited by cruise ships whose routes are through the South Mediterranean, North Africa and North Europe-Canary Islands as well as seasonal change between the Caribbean and Europe.
Open 365 days a year, the Port of Huelva has good motorway connections with Seville and other cities in Andalusia, Madrid and the Portuguese Algarve, and also railway connections to Seville, Córdoba and Madrid.
In the surrounding area, cruise passengers can discover the marvellous natural spaces made up of the fabulous Odiel Marshlands Nature Reserve and the Domingo Rubio estuary. Levante Wharf, created for cruises ships, is located next to the old Mineral Riotinto Wharf and the new maritime promenade Paseo de la Ría, just a 5-minute walk from the centre and the commercial area. The new promenade was awarded with the Andalusian Award for Urban Planning in 2017 and has positively improved the Port-City integration because it offers citizens and tourists a beautiful and large recreational area.
The Port of Huelva also has several infrastructure projects in progress such as the Marina Port of Levante Wharf that will be an outstanding leisure zone where citizens and passengers will be able to enjoy from its shops, restaurants and many other amenities.
Port of Huelva has renewed the PERS (Port Environmental Review System) certificate that grants our Port of being a Green Port respectful with its surroundings and the environment. In addition to this it is essential to account that the Port of Huelva is ready to supply LNG bunkering by truck (TTS) and by ship (STS). It is the only Port in Spain and South of Europe qualified to supply LNG by barge, with the barge already at the port. Moreover, we offer the maximum discounts allowed (46%), on port taxes and on technical-nautical services for Cruise Lines and other incentives for ships powered by LNG.
In Huelva you will enjoy embarking on the caravels that discovered the New World. Exploring the Rio Tinto landscapes that will make you travel to Mars. Feeling the magic of the Sierra de Aracena where the exquisite PDO Jabugo Ham is made. Discovering why Doñana is the great natural reserve of Europe, (World Heritage declared by Unesco), visiting 19th century English legacy and checking that the virgin beach of your dreams exists.
